Why does my child need a play school?
- Children learn through play.
- When children are engaging in play, they are functioning close to their optimal
developmental level.
- We assume that a child will gain these skills naturally, but some do not acquire
the skill automatically.
- Facilitated play helps children learn not only social skills, but cognitive
skills, language skills, and motor skills as well.
- An environment that encourages young children's social and emotional development
will stimulate all aspects of learning.

- Have current CPR and First Aid training.
- Typically maintain a 4:1 ratio with children.
- Promote a smooth separation from the parent(s).
- Tailor each class to meet the interest and needs of the children.
- Have access to occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists,
nurses and special educators.

What is an inclusive
classroom?
In an inclusive classroom, children with Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy,
spina bifida, or other disabilities interact in the same play group with typically
developing peers. It benefits all who participate.

What are the
benefits of inclusion?
Children in inclusive classrooms often show more acceptance and appreciation of
